Travel...

This past weekend Charles, Ella, & I went to see my uncle and Ella's godfather Charlie in Agency. We had great conversation and delicious meals and were able to take a nice car ride to Cantril, IA, to the Dutchmen's store. What fun that was!

Ella has stopped using her hospital provided pacifier all together and now resorts to sucking on her fist and fingers as previously mentioned. She is growing everyday and with all the talking she is doing, sometimes I think a word just might pop out of her mouth, but then I remember she is only 10 weeks old. She usually takes 1 nap a day for an hour or two, sometimes none at all. I have three weeks left before I return to work and am already dreading the first day apart. I know it's best for the both of us, but may just be a little difficult for a first time mom.

Doctor Appointment

Ella went to her 2 month doctor's appointment today. She is now 11 lbs and 24 1/4" long. She also got 3 shots and did very good. Doctor says she's doing really well. She has discovered recently that she can suck on her fist, so that is her new past time. More to come...

Gotcha!

I finally caught Ella smiling. Actually, Charles caught Ella smiling while I convinced her to smile for the camera. Once she sees me with the camera, she just looks at the it in awe and no more smiles. She giggled for the first time today with her Grandma Ellen.

Renae Made the Blog...

This past weekend Grandma Ellen, Ella & I went to Sioux City to visit some family. We went to Aunt Debbie's (Ellen's sister) house and played with her dog and two cats. Then Debbie came along with us to have lunch with Sister Aunt Renae (Grandpa Roger's sister) and Sister Kathy. What a delicious meal! We then went to see Debbie's son Brad and his friend Lisa. Thank you to all for opening your homes for a visit. We really appreciated it! The attached picture is of Sister Aunt Renae and Ella on Saturday.

Pinky

Here is Ella at 8 weeks old. She is really starting to smile and coo a lot, it's just difficult to take the picture fast enough to catch her smiles. She has also started to rebel taking a daytime nap. Her naps usually last about 15-20 minutes and she takes them about 3-4 times daily.

Sleepy...

At 6 weeks old, Ella decided that she was going to start sleeping through the night. Ella is 8 1/2 weeks old now and is consistently sleeping 7-8 hours at a time giving me some much needed rest. She has had a few nights that she has needed a little night-time nourishment, but other than that, I think we're starting a good routine. Let's just hope I'm not jinxing us.

Go 'Noles

Ella's daddy is such a huge Florida State Seminoles fan, Ella thought it may be nice to put this picture on our blog page. Florida State plays Penn State and JoPa tonight in the FedEx Orange Bowl in Miami.
