Bubbles...

We should call Ella "bubbles" as she has discovered how to blow bubbles with her drool, which is coming like crazy! It's kind of hard to capture with a camera, but she is blowing bubbles in this picture. I have a feeling she may be starting to teethe as she is chomping down on her clothes (if she can reach them), her burp rags when she grabs them from us, and various toys and teething rings. She is getting good at grabbing toys and hair (Grandma Helen found that out this weekend!)

Changes all around...

I went back to work on Feb 20th, so Ella started day care. She has been doing really well and seems to be very happy. She's been eating good and taking naps for them. Even though she has been taking naps, she is still sleeping through the night, which makes Charles & I very happy!

Like I said, I started back to work on Feb 20th working half-days on Monday & Tuesday because I figured it would be really difficult to leave Ella. It wasn't as difficult as first thought. I had been taking her to day care every day the week before she started and I felt very comfortable leaving her to play with the staff and other kids. The staff at the center quickly discovered that Ella doesn't like to sit in their swing. It leans back pretty far, so instead, they have been putting a towel behind her to prop her up and all seems to be working well.

On Wednesday, I recieved a call from Human Resources at The Principal Financial Group offering me a position as an Underwriting Consultant in the Health Division working directly with Healthcare Savings Accounts for the High Deductible Healthcare Plans. I have accepted the new position and will start on March 6th. I am really excited and will be working with two of my highly talented former co-workers.

In this picture taken yesterday (02/26), Ella decided that the bouncy seat just didn't keep her inclined enough, so yes, she is trying to sit up in the bouncy seat. I guess we're about done with this device if she is going to continue to try to sit up in it. So, we've started her in her Exersaucer and so far, she loves it! She is figuring out how to push the buttons to play music and she is sucking on everything.

Duste...

Duste is our 7 year old Aussie Shepard mix. She has accustomed quite well to Baby Ella. However, she was sad today when I told her that I would be going back to work on Monday. Poor Duste!

Her future is so bright...

She's gotta wear shades....

Yum...

Ella started cereal this week. She's not really getting the concept yet, but at least she is having fun trying. If you're trying to figure out what her bib says, it says I Love My Mommy. See, she really does love me!

Getting bigger...

I took this picture this morning when Ella was playing. She is holding her head up really good and is sitting up with assistance and grabbing everything that she can -- hair, toys, burp clothes. She doesn't like to lay down much anymore either -- she either wants to sit up or stand. Her demeanor is starting to show already.

She is still a really good baby though. She's been sleeping through the night now for over a month and is working on putting herself to sleep at night on her own after she eats.

Congratulations!

This past weekend Charles, Ella, my parents, & I traveled to George, Iowa, to attend Karie & Ben's wedding. Ella was very good and she even smiled while sitting with her Grandpa Roger.

She likes her fist...

As previously mentioned, Ella has discovered how to suck on her fist. She's growing and can now only fit her thumb and first two fingers in her mouth.
