Giddy Up

So we've been practicing at home how to ride a horse, as you can see.

This weekend we went out to the Iowa State Fair and this horse was awfully curious in Ella. The horse started licking the stroller above Ella. It was so funny.

Ella just couldn't get over how big the animals were. Her mouth opened so wide everytime she saw a big animal. It was a lot of fun and she did very well, even taking time to relax and falling asleep in the stroller for about 30 minutes.

Ella has been fine since her surgery. She has been sleeping a lot. Up to 14 hours a night and 6 hours of naps during the day. She must be growing too because she's been eating a lot -- more milk and she's getting used to a sippy cup now too!

Chef Ella

Since Ella knew that fingers were a delicacy, that makes her a chef. She got a new chef hat to match her outfit!

Fingers are a delicacy

Did you know that fingers are a delicacy? Ella sure thinks so! Fat free and no calories!!!

Beach Baby

On Friday, Ella decided that she would rather be home with her mom, so she decided to break out in hives. Oh, the doctor we will go, the doctor we will go, hi-ho dairy-o, the doctor we will go. So Ella was put on antihistamines. Oooh fun! She sucked it right out of the dropper.

Here's what Ella looked like at her worst.....

Over the weekend, we went back home and spent Saturday at Lost Island Lake. Ella went swimming for the first time. Here she is in her floatie, which she didn't like at first. But then got used to.

On Monday, Ella went in to have surgery for the first time to put tubes in her ears. She made it through, although Charles & I almost didn't. Neither one of us could get Ella to stop crying. Thankfully Grandma Ellen was here to help out and got her calmed down and put to sleep. 4 hours later, we had a new baby -- ok, not really, but she was back to her normal happy self.
