Giant Slide

Between the sky glider and the Giant Slide - Ella was pooped by the end of the day at the Iowa State Fair.

Ella and daddy walking around. Then on the Skygilder - she loved it! Then a root beer float - that was sure good on a hot summer day and finally....

Playing, cuddling and wiped out

Ella and I playing in the water. Ella was playing a game with Grandma Helen where you try to throw balls roped together around a pole. Then she's cuddling with Aunt Brenda and finally wiped out after supper.

Boating...

I think this was the 2nd or 3rd time Ella went on this tube behind the boat. The first time she went with Charles and I and fell asleep. Here she is with cousin Laura and aunt Brenda.

Fishing

Since Charles and I do not have our fishing licenses - no need from our perspective, Grandpa Leonard takes Ella fishing. Now, I wouldn't necessarily call it fishing since she just reels in the line, but it works. We're hoping by the end of the summer that she catches something, other than weeds. I'm sure she'll be more than a little surprised if she catches a fish.

Lake Fun

Over the course of the summer, Ella has really enjoyed the lake. She learned how to swim (with her life jacket on, of course) and go down the slide by herself. Some pictures to share...you may wonder why she had a headband on? She had tubes in her ears, so she has to wear plugs. The headband ensures that her plugs don't fall out.
